Jack Kenny in Lübeck: Six Weeks of Science and Discovery

Medical student Jack Kenny from Queen Mary University of London recently completed a six-week elective at our Institute of Neurogenetics. During his time in Lübeck, he became involved in ongoing research and immersed himself in the academic and cultural life of our city. Below, Jack shares his reflections in his own words:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed spending my 6-week medical elective at the University of Luebeck and University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. During my time here, I contributed to ongoing work investigating the relationship between a mitochondrial polygenic risk score and Parkinson’s Disease. The team and I will continue to collaborate on this project after my return to the UK, and I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together! Lastly, I found the city to be beautiful, and it has provided me with a fantastic place to live during my placement. I wish to thank all those involved in making my stay in Luebeck so welcoming and for giving me a great experience that I will never forget.”
