Listen to our colleague Melissa Vos on the “Scientist Speaks Podcast” speaking about the impact on lipids as a slippery path towards Parkinson’s Disease

This podcast highlights our most recent work published in PNAS that uncovered the role of ceramide accumulation in PINK1-dependent Parkinson’s disease. We found that ceramide accumulates to
induce mitophagy and impair ß-oxidation. Reduction of mitophagy or elevation of ß-oxidatoin may be a novel therapeutic target in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
